Target and Goals of the Association
The Italian social no profit organization "Amici di Ampasilava" is active in charity as expression of participation, solidarity and pluralism, mainly in favor of third parties both in Italy and abroad. The association has the target to pursue only goals of solidarity and civil efforts, particularly in favor of the Ampasilava population, in the region of Tulear (Madagascar), without any economical interest and in respect of the freedom and dignity of the members and of everybody who collaborates with the association.
The organization wants to achieve the objective to promote a culture oriented to human solidarity, supporting ways of international collaboration and promoting initiatives turned to face the problems of the social-medical assistance in the developing countries.
Particularly, following these directions and aiming at acting in the common advantage, the association plans the following volunteer activities, independently or in coordinated actions with other medical institutes, orphanage or other entities which can share those goals:
1. provide free medical attention by medical
practitioners in outpatient clinic to the Ampasilava
population, Tulear region (Madagascar), devoting
particular attention to the weaker and more
unprotected part (children and elderly), using own
infrastructures and means or ones provided and/or
rented as per agreements with public and private
bodies;
2. promote the education of medical corps to assist
the population of Tulear region, even through
co-operations or working side by side with Health
Institutions in Italy and Madagascar;
3. make aware private and public Institutions and
associations in Italy and particularly in
Emilia-Romagna region in order to:
• collect funding, tools and means to be donated to the medical assistance of the population of the Tulear region;
• promote trainings for the volunteers devoted to
help and to work side by side with the local people;
• start co-operations at the national and
international level;
• support exchanges for studying specific problems.
Our Adventure
It started building the tourist resort, “il Laguna Blu Resort”, which is among the best ten in Madagascar. Among the partner there was a medical doctor. Along the years, pushed by the need, then growing trust, the village population started to come continuously to the resort, so that during the doctor staying more than 3500 free medical assistance services were provided.
Hence, there was a need to build a modest part as medical practice.
In this way we have created the association:
“Amici di Ampasilava” - Madagascar
Afterwards, we met the members of another no-profit association in Bologna:
“Amici di Bologna”
Since several years, this association takes care of building kindergarden in Madagascar. Three are already built and the intention is to strongly continue in this volunteer action, extending it to sewing schools.
Supporting the Association
Everybody who is willing to share the goals of the
association can take part to its activities, without
a need to become “Contributing member”, and is
registered as “Supporter of the association”.
A supporter can take part to the activities, though
do not hold any voting rights. The association
committee board decides on the approval of the
registration request.
